About This Programme

 

Broadening Global Horizons introduces you to global perspectives on:

 

  • Business enterprise, management and innovation
  • Leadership theories for sustainable development
  • Social theory and social change
  • National and international law
  • Current trends in the human sciences
  • Philosophy and its lifelong value
  • Concepts and practices of team building

 

Specifically For Younger Students:

 

  • How to think about differences between people
  • Practical exercises for how to write to, and speak with, others
  • Sharing your points of view productively
  • Being part of a team: acting with fairness and respect
  • Setting goals you can achieve
  • Your role in the future

 

Programme Outcomes

 

  • Developing a more profound understanding of international culture and social values
  • Becoming aware of valuable and practical ways to participate in global concerns
  • Forming a global network of leaders of the future
  • Making friends for life

 

This programme can be tailored to the needs and interests of students.

 

Fees

 

  • UK and European Students (Full-time): £1250
  • International Students (Full-time): £2050

 

A booking fee of £500 must be paid upon confirmation from OSE of acceptance. This amount is non‐refundable but will be deducted from the tuition fee.

 

 

Programme Fees Include

 

  • Shared accommodation
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner every day (including any evening meals at local restaurants)
  • Transfer between course locations where courses are spent in alternate locations, including accommodation and meals (as detailed above)
  • Academically-related full-day and half-day excursions, including entrance fees
  • Academically related evening activities, including entrance fees
  • All academic tuition
  • Oxbridge Summer Education Programme Certificate

  • 05th January – 11th January 2020

Schedule

 

Mornings include lectures and round table discussions, followed by ample free time to meet others and become acquainted with all that Oxford has to offer.

 

 

Excursions

 

We have excursions to Oxford’s major sites and attractions and the places accessible from it. For example:

 

  • The Bodleian Library
  • Ashmolean Museum
  • Oxford Natural History Museum
  • Museum of the History of Science
  • Oxford (Debating) Union
  • Blenheim Palace
  • Cambridge
  • Windsor Castle
  • Stonehenge
  • Cotswold Wildlife Park

 

 

Not Included in the Programme Fee

 

  • Visa fees – Students requiring a visa can request a support letter from Oxbridge Summer Education
  • Medical and travel insurance
  • Passport fees
  • Credit card fees
  • Personal items such as toiletries
  • Airport transfers (an additional fee applies)
  • Personal laundry
  • Any items not specifically mentioned as included

Accommodation

 

Single or twin room accommodation which is a college room (unless otherwise specifically stated) occupied by students during the academic year.

 

Participants may share bathrooms with members of the same sex if their room is not ensuite.

 

Caution: If you apply after 30th March, OSE may not be able to accommodate you at Oxford University/College housing. You will be housed, however, at other suitable accommodations.

 

 

Pastoral Care

 

Our tutors, experienced in providing pastoral care at Oxford, Cambridge and other top universities, are always available should you need to speak with someone for personal or professional reasons.

 

 

Eligibility & Prerequisites

 

You must be between 11 to 24 years old. (Age groups: 11-14yrs, 15-18yrs & 19-24yrs)

Parental consent required if under 18.

Working knowledge of the English language: all programmes are delivered in English.
